If you are a fan of skiing the slopes of Colorado then Rocky Mountain Black Car has some great news for you. According to Vail Resort’s blog, most mountain slopes in Colorado have plans to extend the ski seasons for the 2019-2020 season. So what improvements are we looking at? We are happy to breakdown the different Mountain’s improvements for you.

Keystone

If Keystone is your typically go to when it comes to Winter activities, you will be excited to know that these slopes are set to open in October, which is one whole month earlier than it’s typically opening in November. Not only will this mountain be opening a month earlier for ski enthusiasts but it will also be offering top-to-bottom skiing and snowboarding, doubling the terrain access than has typically been open at that time. The plan as of now for Keystone is to open in October and stay open until November – but if 2020 is anything like 2019, we might see slopes open until as late as July, so keep your eyes out!

Breckenridge

While Keystone promises to open it’s slopes earlier, Breckenridge has announced that they will be keeping these slopes open later in the year through Memorial Day. Apparently, Breckenridge’s Peak 8 base, the resort will add completely new slopeside guest-service facilities just steps away from the Colorado SuperChair and Rocky Mountain SuperChair. This area will include Children’s Ski & Snowboard School and childcare facilities, ticket and pass office, and a new ski and snowboard rental concept.

Vail

Another popular resort within the Colorado Rockies is the Vail resort which has extensive snowmaking upgrades and expansion taking place this summer will ensure a pre-Thanksgiving opening day each year. Vail resort also plans to open up slopes in November with plans to stay open throughout April.

Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek has also adopted the idea of expanding snowmaking capabilities at Red Buffalo Park, providing more reliable early season terrain in a key beginner area of the upper mountain. Beaver Creek also has plans to open for the 2019-2020 season at the end of November going into the April months.
