There is nothing more exciting or stressful than planning your wedding. While you are planning a wonderful celebration for family and friends to show your love for your partner, it also comes with plenty of decisions and let’s face it, money. Since most people only plan a wedding once, these couples may not know what to expect, what questions to ask or what to consider when it comes to planning a wedding. Here are some of the main things to consider when planning a wedding.

Your Wedding Date

One of the first decisions you will make after getting engaged is choosing a wedding date. While some bride and grooms have ideas of dates in mind based on anniversaries, time of year or other important dates to them, it doesn’t always make the most sense to pick those dates. Weather is a huge factor you will want to consider when looking at a date for the wedding. Especially if your wedding is outside, you will want to pay special attention to the season of your wedding. For example, a Summer wedding in Colorado could seem like the perfect time for a wedding. However, Colorado has seen snow in June, and thunder storms throughout the summer. This could make having an outdoor wedding in the Summer a gable, not to mention the price of this busy wedding time. The ideal wedding date would be considering weather, if it is off season or wedding season and price around those times.

Your Venue

Oftentimes your wedding date will be determined after your find your venue and you are able to find an opening. You can shop venues based on the date you have in mind but more often than not, you will have more luck picking a date that your dream venue already has available. One of the most major things you’ll want to consider when looking at your venue is what is included and what you have to use with that venue. You might find that your dream venue has set vendors they work with and you are not able to hand pick your caterer, florist or DJ. This can be a deal breaker for a lot of couples and is important to determine. This also comes with a set costs and therefore you aren’t able to find deals on your venders and must go with the venue’s preferred vendors. Be sure to ask the right questions so you don’t end up regretting your venue choice.

Transportation

Reliable and easy transportation is very important when it comes to your big day! You don’t want to have to worry about how you and your wedding party are being transferred from your hotel or home to the venue. Depending on where you are getting ready and where you are staying after the wedding this is a really important factor. After you know your venue, you will want to look into transportation for that area. For instance, in a place like Estes Park, Colorado there isn’t uber, Lyft and only 1 taxi service in town. So you might want to consider a venue close to accommodations, or booking a shuttle or limo service for your guests. Especially if there is an open bar at your wedding you don’t want to leave your guests having to figure out how to get back to their hotel from the venue.
