If you live in Colorado or have been looking at weather reports for Colorado you would’ve seen the early snow happening in the Rockies. Before the end of October Colorado has already seen over 33 inches of snow which is great news for skiers eager to get this season started. Lucky for these enthusiasts, this early snow has meant early openings at most Colorado Ski Resorts.

Arapahoe Basin Currently Open

This record snowfall has lead to Arapahoe Basin opening it’s slopes early on October 11, 2019. For the seventh time in the past eight years, it was the first ski area in North America to open when it welcomed skiers and boarders on Oct. 11. October brought 33.6 inches of snow, which is 160% more than normal but well below the record of 45 inches in 2002. Eldora

Elder is opening Nov. 1 to skiers and snowboarders. Thanks to a storm that dumped 15 inches on the resort last week and another 22.5 inches this week, the resort has moved up its opening day two weeks which is three weeks before its average opening date. This will mark the earliest opening in more than 20 years for this ski resort. Skiers are now able to ski at Eldora and can check weather conditions on their website.

Keystone

Keystone recently opened their slopes on October 12, 2019. A record October snowfall of 44 inches, half of which fell in the past week, allowed it to edge out by an inch the previous record set in 2006. It also helped the resort become the second ski area in North America to open behind A-Basin. You can officially ski at keystone now and are encourage to visit their website for more ski conditions.

Beaver Creek: Opens Nov. 27

Breckenridge: Opens Nov. 8. The resort set a record for October snowfall with 48 inches, surpassing the record from 2006 by 2 inches.

Buttermilk: Opens Dec. 7

Copper Mountain: Opens Nov. 8. The latest storm brought 3 feet of snow to the mountain.

Crested Butte: Opens Nov. 27

Echo Mountain: Opens Nov. 29
